\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStrengthening the culture of peace* is more necessary than ever in societies in\npolycrisis where armed conflicts, poverty, the crisis of democracies,\ninequalities, discrimination, climate change, and forced migration of entire\npopulations lead to the denial of human rights, including education for girls\nand women, and tend to create societies in perpetual conflict. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tToday's fractured world urgently needs to reconsider peace as an embodied\ndynamic living culture. Reconsidering peace requires respecting linguistic\nand cultural differences and the equal dignity of all human beings; it means\ndeveloping curiosity and critical thinking starting at an early age, to combat\n\nstereotypes and prejudices and to be truthful, resolving conflicts in a non-\nviolent manner. Hence, it means imagining a different world, where\n\ncreativity and otherness contribute to a common language and to building\n\nbridges among diversities. Considering peace requires establishing inter-\ngenerational, inter-religious, and intercultural dialogue, mutual respect, and\n \npromoting non violence.\nUNESCO's NGO partners, rich in their diversity, contribute specifically to\nencouraging dialogue at local community levels.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe events that have been organized since 2012 by the collective for\ncelebrating the International Day of Peace are part of UNESCO's primary mandate to build peace in the minds of men and women, and are based on\ncreativity as a lever for dialogue and inclusion. The last two events were\ngranted the patronage of the French National Commission to UNESCO and\nthe usual support of the Liaison Committee of UNESCO's NGO partners. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn the wake of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and at a time when\nthe Organization is under serious threat, we choose to anchor our event in\nUNESCO's global priorities, namely Gender Equality, Youth and Africa, and\ncelebrate the recognition of the Three Cultures Foundation. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDuring this 2026 event, in Spain, located so close to Africa, Creativity and Art\nwill be considered as powerful levers for individual and collective\nemancipation, for equality, inclusion, and citizen participation. Using various\nartistic and cultural practices, individuals\u2014especially young people, women,\nand often invisible audiences\u2014can rediscover their capacity for expression,\nrecognition, and affirmation of their dignity. Art then functions as a space for\nfreedom, dialogue, and social transformation.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In the\ncontext of current world tensions, culture appears as a vector of resilience,\nenabling us to strengthen and rebuild social ties and promote education for\npeace.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The 2026 event thus aims to affirm that promoting art and creation is both\nabout supporting forms of aesthetic expression, and also about working\n\nconcretely to build a culture of peace based on equal opportunities, the\nrecognition of diversity, and participation in cultural and democratic life.\nAccording to the conclusions of the 2025 event, \u201cart is not just entertainment,\nit is a political act, a soft force and unshakable force for the Culture of Peace.\u201d<\/strong>
